Next Generation
Thomson Playford Cutlers has established a well respected reputation over 120 years. However, far from being steeped in old ways of doing things we are always striving to challenge the status quo. We seek continuous improvements in the way we practise law, service our clients and operate as a business in order to grow both commercially and developmentally.
Our graduates and lawyers are our future, the Next Generation of the firm. It is important for us to understand what inspires and challenges our Next Generation, what excites them in the workplace, and what we can do to assist them in their growth at Thomson Playford Cutlers.
As part of our commitment to the Next Generation, we have a forum called Club TP.
Club TP is a group comprised of all clerks, pre-admission graduates and lawyers up to Senior Associate level.
The club meets monthly and provides a forum for:
Our graduates and lawyers are our future, the Next Generation of the firm. It is important for us to understand what inspires and challenges our Next Generation, what excites them in the workplace, and what we can do to assist them in their growth at Thomson Playford Cutlers.

- Juniors to network amongst their peers and make contacts through different sections of the firm
- A support network
- Issues/problems to be heard and discussions had
- Presenters from within and external to the group to present on matters of relevance and as requested by the group
- Juniors to be heard and involved in decision-making within the firm
- Information being provided to juniors regarding external marketing, seminars etc.
The group also holds fun social events.
Social Club
Our Social Club is for all employees of the firm who wish to be members.
Throughout the year the Social Club organises many social events and activities to encourage everyone to enjoy their work environment, get to know each other better and generally have fun!
The Social Club is run by a committee of volunteers from all areas of the firm who manage the funds of the club, organise lots of fun social activities and come up with new initiatives.
Some examples of events our dedicated committee co-ordinates include:
